About the Role
This is a full-time, 12-hour night shift position (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) located at the Main Campus in the Cardiac Intensive Care department. The role involves providing patient care through assessment and implementation of the nursing process for all age groups. Responsibilities include performing and assisting with procedures, documenting care, and coordinating the patient’s plan of care with physicians and other disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care through assessment and implementation of the nursing process.
- Perform and assist with medical procedures.
- Document care provided in patient records.
- Coordinate patient’s plan of care with physicians and other healthcare disciplines.
- Maintain an atmosphere that supports SGMC Health’s mission, vision, values, and standards.
- Operate clinical equipment, computers, telecommunication devices, and patient information systems.
Requirements
- Current RN License in the State of Georgia.
- CPR certification (required).
- ACLS certification (must be obtained within the first 12 months of employment).
- One (1) year of experience in a related specialty area (preferred).
- Ability to work well individually and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to assess and adapt to new situations, think critically, and manage priorities.
- Strong clinical nursing skills in assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Ability to communicate clearly and care for a diverse patient population across all age groups and cultures.
Working Conditions
- Works primarily in a hospital or clinic setting.
- Requires considerable standing, mental effort, stooping, bending, and lifting (in excess of 50 lbs.).
- Exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious diseases.
- May occasionally assist with patient transport to another facility.
- Physical functional capacity classified as "very heavy" per the Saunders Method for healthcare workers.
Schedule
Full-time, 12-hour night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM).
