CICU RN Registered Nurse

About the Role

Baptist Health is the largest healthcare system serving central Alabama, providing comprehensive hospital-based and outpatient services to nearly 60 percent of the residents in Montgomery, Autauga, and Elmore counties.

The Registered Nurse (RN) supervises and coordinates activities of nursing personnel on shift, including weekends and holidays, to ensure quality and continuity of patient care. This individual utilizes the nursing process in patient assessments, planning of care, and performance of care interventions. The RN collaborates with physicians and other healthcare clinicians in the planning and implementation of patient care. Additional duties may be assigned within the scope of the role.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate nursing personnel activities on assigned shift, weekends, and holidays.
• Utilize the nursing process for patient assessments, planning, and care interventions.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare clinicians in planning and implementing patient care.
• Observe, assess, and record work, safety, and infection control standards.
• Organize, prioritize, and schedule work assignments for nursing staff.
• Supervise and train employees as needed.

Requirements

• Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Active RN licensure in the state of Alabama.
• BLS certification required.
• Additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, etc.) may be required depending on assigned area.

Schedule

• Full-time, internal contract (fixed term).
• First shift.
