About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients. This role involves utilizing the nursing process, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and providing care in a family-centered environment.

Responsibilities

• Assess: Perform appropriate assessments of physical, social, and psychological status. Seek and evaluate information from other members of the interdisciplinary team, including patients, families, physicians, non-nursing disciplines, support staff, and others.
• Plan: Develop individualized plans of care using assessment information and critical thinking skills. Involve patients, families, teams, and physicians in developing these plans, including necessary education. Prepare patients for further support needs once current episodes of care are completed.
• Implement: Direct interdisciplinary care teams through delegation, coordination, and collaboration. Provide or delegate care according to the plan of care, guidelines of care, and professional licensure provisions. Prioritize tasks and manage resources effectively.
• Evaluate: Review patient responses to interventions and revise plans of care as needed. Assess changes and reassess patients regularly.
• Professionalism: Promote the nursing profession, participate in its development, and adhere to legal and ethical standards. Provide accurate and timely documentation and understand the legal implications of care delivery.

Requirements

• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
• Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of employment.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN).
• Minimum of 12 months of experience in a pediatric setting preferred.

Qualifications

Pay

$35.22 - $53.29 per hour

Schedule

RN must be willing to cross-train in Endoscopy, OR, and Interventional Radiology. Shifts include Pre-Op (5:30 AM – 3:00 PM, 6:00 AM – 3:30 PM, 6:30 AM – 4:00 PM), Recovery (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM, 9:00 AM – 6:30 PM), and shared Pre-Op/Recovery shifts (6:00 AM – 3:30 PM, 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM). Night shift call and weekend shifts may be required.

Physical Requirements

• Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
• Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors requiring verbal communication, hearing, and understanding spoken information quickly and accurately, especially during emergency situations.
• Manual dexterity for manipulating complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy, including frequent computer use and typing for documentation.
• Need to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients, walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment, often in crowded and busy rooms.
• Expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
