Registered Nurse-Centralized Telemetry Unit, Full Time Days

About the role

Plans and implements professional nursing care for patients in accordance with hospital policies. Assumes charge nurse responsibilities as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Affirms patient care needs through assessment
• Organizes appropriate patient care based on identified needs
• Implements and evaluates patient care plans
• Maintains a safe environment for patients
• Maintains an accurate and relevant record of patient care
• Administers medication as ordered by physician
• Recognizes and responds to life-threatening situations
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams
• Maintains competency in required areas
• Monitors quality of care based on outcome indicators
• Participates in cost containment efforts
• Adjusts care based on age-specific needs
• Supports patients' cultural and spiritual practices

Requirements

• Associates Degree in Nursing required
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
• Current licensure in North Carolina as a Registered Nurse or Compact state licensure
• Completes Clinical Ladder packet and is approved for RN II, RN III, RN IV Unit
• Nurse to patient ratio is 1:4 but may vary
• New Graduate Nurses are accepted
• Patient population includes adult and geriatric patients

Qualifications

• Education and formal training: Associates Degree in Nursing required, Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
• Licensure: Current licensure in North Carolina as a Registered Nurse or Compact state licensure
• Experience: Acute Respiratory Disorders, Acute Cardiac Disorders, Cardiac Dysrhythmia Requiring Drug Therapy/Adjustment, Pre and Post Surgery Requiring Telemetry Monitoring, Acute and Chronic Renal Disease, Neurological Disorders, Endocrinology Disorders, Psychosocial Disorders, Gastrointestinal Disorders
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language, Demonstrates positive interpersonal skills, Verbal and written skills required, Demonstrates effective organizational and leadership skills, Has knowledge of age-specific physiological and psychosocial, developmental and spiritual needs of patients typically served
• Physical Requirements: Speech and auditory acuity for communication of patient needs, Visual acuity for observation of patients, Much standing, walking, bending, and lifting, May involve skin, eye, mucous membrane, or parenteral contact with blood or other potentially infectious material, Must be able to lift 35 pounds
