Registered Nurse Cardiovascular Resource
About the role
Serve as a clinical expert in cardiovascular (CV) care, providing real-time guidance and support to bedside nurses managing cardiac and vascular patients.
Assist with high-acuity situations such as chest pain, arrhythmias, post–cardiac catheterization care, and code responses, ensuring evidence-based interventions are followed.
Act as a resource for interpretation of cardiac rhythms, hemodynamic monitoring, and administration of cardiovascular medications (e.g., antiarrhythmics, vasoactive drips).
Responsibilities
- Provide real-time guidance and support to bedside nurses managing cardiac and vascular patients.
- Aid in high-acuity situations including chest pain, arrhythmias, post–cardiac catheterization care, and code responses.
- Interpret cardiac rhythms, hemodynamic monitoring, and administer cardiovascular medications.
Requirements
- Licensed Registered Nurse from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- One or more of the following certifications obtained within 6 months of hire date or job transfer date:
- Advanced Life Support (ALSO)
- BLS Provider (AHA or ARCC)
Preferences
- Previous CV experience preferred.
Qualifications
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing.
- Required professional licensure at time of hire.
Skills
- Expertise in cardiovascular care.
- Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic monitoring.
- Knowledge of administering cardiovascular medications.
