About the Role

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Medical Surgical and Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit, you will deliver compassionate, high-quality care that impacts patient well-being and recovery. This unit provides ICU-level care in 24 large private rooms equipped with full monitoring capabilities, ventilators, and pumps, ensuring a healing environment with 1:1 or 1:2 patient-to-nurse ratios. You will leverage expertise to perform critical assessments, skilled procedures, and implement individualized care plans while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to departmental and hospital policies, including safety, risk management, and regulatory standards.
  • Stay current with trends, developments, and regulatory requirements impacting nursing practice.
  • Administer and document medications (topical, oral, intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intravenous) as ordered by healthcare practitioners.
  • Assess patients’ physical, psychosocial, cultural, behavioral, developmental, and spiritual needs; gather relevant data and implement interventions.
  • Plan and provide holistic, professional nursing care within scope of practice; evaluate outcomes and adjust care as needed.
  • Prepare patients for discharge and coordinate post-discharge needs.
  • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and competence in communication and care delivery.
  • Apply knowledge and skills specific to the patient populations served in the ICU.
  • Engage in professional growth and meet mandatory requirements by stated deadlines.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing (required upon hire).
  • One of the following:
    • 1–2 years of med/surg experience and successful completion of a critical care residency program, or
    • New graduate with completion of a senior practicum in critical care, ED, or PACU and successful completion of a critical care residency program.
  • Active Washington State Registered Nurse license (required upon hire).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required upon hire).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (required within 6 months of hire).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • One year of related work experience in an acute care setting.
  • Previous PCU/ICU experience.
  • Critical RN certification (Adult/Neonatal/Pediatric/Acute).
  • Certified Neuroscience RN (CNRN).

Pay

$48.36 – $85.71 per hour.
