Registered Nurse - Cardiothoracic ICU (NIGHTS)
About the Role
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides excellent, clinically competent patient care by utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. The RN effectively interacts with patients, significant others, and other healthcare team members while maintaining standards of professional nursing. The RN determines the effectiveness of nursing interventions by evaluating outcomes in relation to evidence-based intervention and ensures every patient receives quality care and services through the efficient use of resources.
The RN functions within the scope and standards of nursing as defined by the American Nurses Association and the Nurse Practice Act of Virginia. As a member of the healthcare team, the RN makes decisions and performs services in the best interest of the patient, positively contributing to the patient's experience and the success of the team by prioritizing the patient and team needs above individual needs.
Requirements
- Nursing Diploma or Associate's degree from an accredited nursing school
- Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Virginia or a compact state
- Must obtain BLS within 90 days of hire
- Must obtain ACLS and PALS within 120 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN
- Experience in specialty areas (may require additional certifications or qualifications)
