About the role
The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care-teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing.
Responsibilities
- Perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process.
- Assess patients’ physical, psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, and developmental needs.
- Diagnose and plan interventions to address identified patient needs.
- Implement care plans and provide direct patient care.
- Evaluate patient progress and modify care plans as necessary.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Teach patients and their families about their health conditions and treatment plans.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and education.
Requirements
- Virginia RN License
- Virginia or Compact/Multi-State Eligible
- BLS within 90 days of hire
- American Heart Association ACLS within 1 year of hire
- ICU experience or 1 year of Intermediate/Stepdown care with cardiac knowledge
- Alternatively, 2 years of Medical/Surgical, PCU, or ED experience (1 year for ED)
Qualifications
- Associates Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
- Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)
