About the Role
To promote the mission of PATH to help individuals achieve a more independent and fulfilling life by being an effective team member. Registered Nurses will provide 24/7 on-site coverage of assigned residential program(s). The Nurse is responsible for oversight and provision of medication administration and medication monitoring; coordination of physical health of residents; provision of metabolic screenings, vitals, restraint oversight, and follow-up assessments; and collaboration with the residential team, including psychiatrists.
Physical Demands
Minimal in nature, with the ability to perform CPR and approved physical interventions after successful completion of training.
Requirements
- Active PA RN license in good standing
- Successful completion of an RN program
- Experience in behavioral health care
- Valid Driver’s License and use of personal vehicle
- Excellent interpersonal skills
Responsibilities
- Be knowledgeable and comply with DPW’s 55 PA Code Chapter 3800 (Child Residential and Day Treatment Facilities Regulations), OMHSAS’s memo dated November 1995: Requirements for Residential Treatment Facilities for Adults, and 6400 regulations
- Be knowledgeable and comply with CARF, CBH, PRTF, and DHS requirements/regulations
- Provide and ensure all aspects of Medication Administration and Medication Monitoring, including trainings, coordination with pharmacy, and collaboration with psychiatrist(s) in a timely, comprehensive manner
- Complete Metabolic Screenings and other assessments/screenings (e.g., AIMS) for each resident
- Provide oversight of physical health needs for each resident, including ensuring dietary needs are met
- Complete health histories, as assigned
- Provide vitals and medical intervention, as indicated
- Coordinate PCP, Urgent Care, or Emergency Room visits when indicated
- Obtain orders for restraints, oversee restraints, and provide follow-up assessments after a restraint
- Collaborate with psychiatrist(s) on any medication and/or evaluation needs
