Registered Nurse

About the role

WCS Healthcare is partnering with a New York State Psychiatric Hospital to bring experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) onto its Adult Mental Health team. This opportunity offers the chance to provide high-quality psychiatric nursing care in a state-operated inpatient setting dedicated to supporting patient recovery and wellness.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult psychiatric patients in an inpatient setting.
• Conduct assessments, develop nursing care plans, and evaluate patient progress.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility policies.
• Monitor patients for changes in mental and physical status and communicate findings to the treatment team.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
• Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning and patient care conferences.
• Support crisis intervention, behavioral management, and de-escalation efforts as needed.
• Foster a safe, therapeutic environment that promotes patient dignity, recovery, and well-being.

Requirements

• Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience working with the Adult Mental Health population.
• Current BLS Certification required.
• Strong assessment, clinical judgment, and communication skills.

Experience in psychiatric, behavioral health, inpatient mental health, or forensic settings preferred.

Schedule

• Five (5) shifts per week.
• Shift Availability: Days, Evenings, Nights.
• Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend.
