About the Role
As a Registered Nurse in our facility, you'll do more than care for patients—you'll lead, teach, and advocate. Working closely with healthcare and correctional staff, you'll assess physical/mental health needs, administer medications, and guide treatment plans from start to finish. You'll play a key role in supporting patient education, making timely referrals, and helping maintain safety and standards across the unit. Whether you're managing medications, mentoring staff, or responding to a crisis, your skills will make a real impact every day. You'll do more than just deliver care. Schedule & Facility
- Schedule: Full-time, Part-time, and Per Diem Opportunities Available
- Facility: South Central Regional Jail, Charleston, WV 25309
Responsibilities
- Assess physical and mental health needs of patients
- Administer medications and guide treatment plans from start to finish
- Support patient education and make timely referrals
- Help maintain safety and standards across the unit
- Mentor staff and respond to crises as needed
Requirements
- Active unrestricted RN license in state of practice
- 1–2 years of nursing experience (correctional experience preferred)
- Active CPR certification
- Strong clinical and communication skills
- Adaptability in high-pressure settings
- A compassionate, nonjudgmental approach to patient care
