Registered Nurse

About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) at Vision Innovation Partners is responsible for performing competent nursing care as per the nursing process. This role requires a deep understanding of surgical procedures and the ability to manage patient care effectively.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates necessary practical, technical, or specialized knowledge and skills for peri-operative nursing.
• Oversees instrument and equipment setup, prepares for cases using preference cards, and anticipates surgeon's needs.
• Circulates during surgeries, facilitates transitions between procedures, and utilizes preference cards.
• Ensures patient safety by practicing appropriate body mechanics and managing patient conditions such as cardiopulmonary arrest and malignant hyperthermia.
• Conducts thorough patient interviews and assessments, performs detailed time-outs, and reviews charts for completeness.
• Administers medications correctly, ensuring only licensed personnel administer them, and relays hand-off communications to post-anesthesia care unit (PACU).
• Performs circulator duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Experience in an operating room, particularly in ophthalmology.
• Active RN license as required by the state of employment or appropriate compact licensure.
• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Valid BCLS & ACLS certifications required upon employment.
