About the role

Northside Forsyth Cancer Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) - Oncology for a 13-week duration.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to oncology patients receiving chemotherapy, biotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive infusion treatments.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments before, during, and after treatment, monitoring for adverse reactions and changes in clinical status.
• Safely prepare, administer, and monitor chemotherapy in accordance with established oncology protocols and safety standards.
• Access, maintain, and manage central venous access devices, including PICC lines, ports, and central venous catheters.
• Affirmatively administer medications, blood products, hydration therapy, and supportive treatments as prescribed.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medication management, potential side effects, symptom management, and home care instructions.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent Oncology RN experience required.
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Certified Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association required.
• National Institutes of Health (NIH) Stroke Scale Certification required.
• Chemotherapy Certification required.
• Experience administering chemotherapy and biotherapy in an outpatient oncology setting.
• Strong knowledge of oncology nursing, infusion therapy, central line management, and symptom management.
• Excellent patient education, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
