About the role
The St. Louis County Department of Public Health seeks nursing professionals to provide comprehensive preventative and primary care in various clinics. Positions are available at John C. Murphy Health Center, North Central Community Health Center, and South County Health Center. Typical work hours are Monday through Friday. Starting salaries range from $60,320 annually.
Responsibilities
- Provides patient care and treatment based on the Missouri Nurse Practice Act.
- Focuses on public health and prevention.
- Initiates nursing assessments and establishes appropriate care plans.
- Communicates medical data verbally and in writing.
- Collaborates with other healthcare providers and coordinates services.
- Educates patients and their families on maintaining and improving health.
- Administers and dispenses medications and treatments.
- Evaluates patient progress and modifies care plans as necessary.
- Assists physicians with examinations and procedures.
- Maintains ongoing education to stay current in professional practice.
- Participates in continuing education and contributes to the department's reference materials.
- May include direct patient care.
Requirements
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse by the State of Missouri.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- Willingness to work at one of the three specified clinics.
