Registered Nurse

About the role

Provides comprehensive health care services for individuals residing in St. Dominic’s Family Services; oversees the health activities in the residence; and assures optimal health care services for the individuals in accordance with the philosophy and objectives of the agency.

Responsibilities

• Conduct health assessments and maintain person-centered care.
• Coordinate medical services and ensure individuals receive appropriate treatment and follow-up.
• Manage medical records and oversee medication administration and compliance.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, families, and healthcare providers.
• Schedule appointments and accompany individuals when needed.
• Provide staff training on health-related topics.
• Be available for emergencies and advocate for individuals' well-being.
• Ensure all care meets state and agency regulations.

Requirements

• Current NYS License to practice as a Registered Nurse (minimum ASN).
• Three years of experience working as a Registered Nurse with knowledge of developmental disabilities preferred, or two years of experience as an RN plus two years working in a developmental disabilities or mental health agency.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
