About the role
Join a groundbreaking team at the forefront of Peer-Powered Support, empowering individuals on their journey through mental-health and substance-use challenges. As a Registered Nurse (RN) you will oversee medical, psychiatric, substance-abuse, and nursing care for the people we serve and act as clinical liaison until they are enrolled in services at another community facility.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate services with public and private community health, mental-health, and social-service agencies to ensure appropriate care for individuals.
- Assist individuals with preparation and recording of the service-planning process.
- Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans.
- Provide individual and family counseling.
- Participate in the development of educational curriculum.
- Supervise and/or deliver nursing treatment and monitoring (e.g., diabetes, blood pressure).
- Respond to crisis calls for assessment and intervention as needed.
- Coordinate relationships with outside medical and nursing support services, including pharmacy and laboratory.
- Administer medication per protocol.
- Complete all required clinical documentation.
- Stay current with federal and state regulations, laws, and Recovery Innovations policies.
- Adhere to Recovery Innovations’ compliance standards as outlined in the Code of Conduct and Conflict-of-Interest Policies.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to improve productivity, efficiency, recovery outcomes, and medical care.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Valid and current state-specific RN license (Compact licensure preferred).
- Minimum of one year of experience working in a behavioral-health setting.
- Knowledge of psychiatric medications, their indications, common side effects, reactions, and interactions.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail and problem-solve.
- Ability to conduct assessments and develop treatment plans.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective listening and excellent documentation skills.
- Trauma-Informed Care experience preferred.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Must be able to pass de-escalation training as defined by state requirements.

Pay
$36.00 – $39.00 per hour.
Schedule
- Pool / non-exempt position with shift hours as needed: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM.
- Must be open to working both day and night shifts.
- Minimum of two shifts per month required.
- Must attend new-employee celebration training.
Location
Crisis – Cumberland Recovery Response Center, Fayetteville, NC.
Additional requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old (or meet state-specific minimum-age requirements).
- Must successfully complete and meet all credentialing-process requirements if applicable.
- Must maintain a high level of confidentiality (HIPAA guidelines and regulations) and professionalism.
- Must pass a seven-year background check, substance-abuse testing, and/or tuberculosis testing (if applicable).
- Must pass education-verification check.
- Must obtain designated fingerprinting clearance in applicable states.
- If driving is required: must pass a three-year motor-vehicle report and meet minimum eligibility requirements of the insurance carrier.
- A Nursing Competency Checklist must be completed as part of new-hire onboarding.
- Travel required based on business need.
State-specific addenda
- Arizona: Must be 21 years or older.
- California: Licensed Social Worker, Licensed Mental Health Professional, Licensed Psychologist, Registered Nurse, or Licensed Vocational Nurse (Master’s Degree in Behavioral Health Field and registered or licensed with California Board of Behavioral Science (BBS) preferred; associate degrees accepted).
- Louisiana: Must be 24 years or older.
- Washington: Licensed Registered Nurse with one year of experience preferred (MHP level preferred).
