Key Responsibilities
- Cook up and deliver age-appropriate, individualized pre- and post-operative patient care
- Administer medications and IV fluids safely based on patient condition
- Maintain a watchful eye on patient status and respond promptly to any changes
- Measure and manage pain for patients based on provider orders
- Inform dialysis units, providers, and patients about post-procedure status
Operating / Endovascular Room Duties
- Take charge of circulating RN and oversee patient care within the procedure room
- Support surgeons, interventional nephrologists, and anesthesia staff during procedures
- Keep the sterile field and follow aseptic techniques strictly
- Watch over sedated patients according to ASC protocols
- Count instruments, sponges, and needles according to policy
- Ensure efficient room turnover and patient flow
Patient Advocacy & Care Coordination
- Review and update patient charts, orders, labs, and medications
- Teach patients and families based on their learning needs and readiness
- Stand up for patients while ensuring strict confidentiality
- Communicate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary team members
- Keep thorough and accurate clinical documentation
Customer Service & Communication
- Provide professional, compassionate interactions with patients and families
- Handle phone calls and patient inquiries efficiently
- Display a calm, respectful demeanor in challenging situations

Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Active Illinois RN license
- BLS and ACLS certification (or ability to obtain within first month of employment)
- Basic computer proficiency
