Responsibilities

• Evaluates total patient care needs using the nursing process
• Directs and provides holistic care for patients
• Follows directives from professional and regulatory bodies
• Performs physical assessments and decision-making
• Delivers age-appropriate patient care and discharge planning
• Administers medications and treatments according to hospital policies and procedures
• Patient-family teaching is conducted accurately
• Accurate documentation in electronic medical records is maintained
• Delegates tasks to other levels of care providers within the department
