About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) position at Central Maine Medical Center's Oncology/Infusion Center offers up to $20,000 for RNs with 2 or more years of experience and a sign-on bonus for new graduates. Eligibility and payout details are discussed during the interview process.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, patient-centered care within the Oncology/Infusion Center
• Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, immunotherapy, and IV infusions according to protocol
• Conduct patient assessments and monitor treatment responses and side effects
• Inform patients and families about treatment plans, medications, and symptom management
• Maintain adherence to oncology safety standards and hazardous drug handling protocols
• Communicate clinical updates, lab results, and diagnostic findings to physicians
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure HIPAA compliance
• Collaborate with the oncology care team to coordinate treatment and supportive care

Requirements

• Current and valid state RN license
• Current BLS (AHA) certification upon hire and ongoing maintenance
• Oncology Nursing Certification preferred
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Qualifications

• Experience in an infusion setting
• Knowledge of oncology nursing practices
• Ability to handle hazardous drugs safely
• Effective communication skills
