About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) at Central Maine Medical Center (CMMC) in Lewiston, Maine, provides safe patient care within the scope of practice. Responsibilities include delivering direct patient care, directing and guiding patient/family teaching, and coordinating activities of other nursing personnel.

Responsibilities

• Delivers safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care within the Medical/Surgical Unit.
• Communicates with physicians about changes in the patient’s clinical condition, including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies, and symptomatology.
• Able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.

Requirements

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current preferred.
• Previous acute care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator management experience preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) with 2 or more consecutive years of experience eligible for up to $20,000 sign-on bonus.
• New Graduate Registered Nurses eligible for up to $10,000 sign-on bonus.
