About the role
The Orthopaedic Center is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) to support one of their physicians. The ideal candidate must hold a current Alabama nursing license.
Responsibilities
- Perform suture/staple removal and wound care/dressing changes
- Draw and call in medications
- Apply and remove casts and splints, fit for orthotics
- Locate necessary films, test results, and reports for appointments
- Prepare charts, print patient information, stock exam rooms, power up computers
- Schedule follow-up appointments, tests/procedures, and surgeries
- Verify pre-op labs and schedule surgery clearances
- Prepare surgery packets
- Auxiliary support to other physician team members
- Fill out disability, return-to-work, and insurance forms
- Check-out patients, collect co-pays, deductibles
- Communicate with patients, answer phone calls, educate, escort, respond to messages, communicate test results
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current nursing license in Alabama or multi-state license
- Minimum one year full-time clinical experience in direct patient care
- Strong patient care and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and meet deadlines
- Outstanding organizational, time management, and writing skills
- Clear and concise communication skills
- Positive, “teamwork” attitude and work history
