Registered Nurse

About the role

The Orthopaedic Center is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) to support one of their physicians. The ideal candidate must hold a current Alabama nursing license.

Responsibilities

• Perform suture/staple removal and wound care/dressing changes
• Draw and call in medications
• Apply and remove casts and splints, fit for orthotics
• Locate necessary films, test results, and reports for appointments
• Prepare charts, print patient information, stock exam rooms, power up computers
• Schedule follow-up appointments, tests/procedures, and surgeries
• Verify pre-op labs and schedule surgery clearances
• Prepare surgery packets
• Auxiliary support to other physician team members
• Fill out disability, return-to-work, and insurance forms
• Check-out patients, collect co-pays, deductibles
• Communicate with patients, answer phone calls, educate, escort, respond to messages, communicate test results

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Current nursing license in Alabama or multi-state license
• Minimum one year full-time clinical experience in direct patient care
• Strong patient care and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and meet deadlines
• Outstanding organizational, time management, and writing skills
• Clear and concise communication skills
• Positive, “teamwork” attitude and work history
