Registered Nurse

Under the direction of the unit manager, this role provides direct clinical patient care. The position assumes responsibility for assessing, planning, and implementing direct age-appropriate clinical care to assigned patients on a per-shift basis and at the unit level. The role supervises staff to whom appropriate care is delegated and is accountable to support the CNO in ensuring high-quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and resource management related to patient care.

Responsibilities

• Accurately evaluate assigned patients and document clinical assessments, including emotional and physical pain, and required comfort measures; prioritize patient/family needs into the plan of care.
• Assess and document patient/family educational needs to aid in informed decision-making about healthcare treatment and ensure successful transfer within the healthcare environment; coordinate with peers to establish educational resources as needed.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients and families.
• Develop and coordinate discharge plans, independently or in collaboration with other staff.
• Demonstrate critical thinking, problem-solving skills, professional behavior, and customer service.
• Engage in the peer review process.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated patient care.

Requirements

• 1 year of Mental Health RN experience required; 3+ years of experience preferred.
• Nursing Degree from an accredited program.
• Current Maryland Registered Nurse License or eligibility to obtain one.
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.

Pay

$37.15 to $57.58 per hour, based on experience.
