Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including psychiatrists, therapists, and case managers to develop, implement, or evaluate treatment plans; and participate in staff team meetings.
- Develop and establish therapeutic relationships with clients/parents.
- Absess patient’s mental and physical status based on symptoms.
- Take the lead role and participate in providing medication administrative management and monitoring.
- Provide psycho-education to individuals regarding their diagnosis.
- Refer patients/clients or family members to community resources or to specialists as necessary.
- Complete all relevant charting, documentation and follow-up.
- Meet with families, probation officers, police, or other interested parties to exchange necessary information during the treatment process.
- Participate in and provide in-service training to staff as appropriate.
- Monitor medical needs and problems, and review them with the appropriate staff.
- Adhere to all regulatory body rules.
- Complete nurse assessments, vitals and weight.
- Complete and maintain client related paperwork including federal and state mandated forms, client diagnostic records and progress notes in the appropriate client file and electronic health record.
- Follows professional and ethical practices when working with patients, patient records patients’ families, and community personnel.
- Maintains confidentiality of patient/family information.
- Works effectively with all patients and families to promote a milieu of trust while providing excellent mental health treatment.
- Participates in required trainings.
- Attend all scheduled team meetings.
- Completes all other assignments or duties as designated.
Qualifications
- Current State of Michigan RN Licensure.
- Minimum of a Associates degree in Nursing from an approved nursing program.
- SUD and MAT experience a Plus.
- Valid Michigan Driver’s License and Insurance.
Skills Required
- Ability to perform injections.
- Ability to draw blood.
- Knowledge of characteristics and conditions experienced by adults, adolescent, and children with mental illness, co-occurring diagnosis, developmental disabilities, and severe emotional disturbances.
- Personable, positive, and enthusiastic attitude with capability to deal effectively with different types of people.
- Ability to multi-task effectively, think critically and take initiative.
- Knowledge of psychotropic medications, drug interactions, mental illness diagnostic codes and medical terms.
- Detail oriented with exceptional organization and work ethic for efficient output in fast paced work environments.
- Experience working in community-based setting preferred.
- Competent computer skills using EMR, electronic prescriptions, and MS Office products.
- Ability to provide culturally competent services that shows sensitivity to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
