About the role
Harborview's Medical Respite Program (Edward Thomas House Medical Respite) provides recuperative care to people experiencing homelessness who are too sick to return to the shelter or streets, but do not require a hospital level of care. The Registered Nurse (RN) will screen referrals, coordinate admissions, provide direct nursing care, and support case management within the clinic setting.
Responsibilities
- Screen and triage referrals from King County hospitals for Medical Respite admission.
- Coordinate with referring facilities and Respite staff to complete referral documentation.
- Determine patient eligibility for admission.
- Facilitate and coordinate patient transfers to the Respite program.
- Demonstrate strong multitasking, attention to detail, and communication skills.
- Provide direct nursing care within the clinic setting as needed.
- Perform wound care and PICC line management.
- Support case management activities in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Washington.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, including wound care, PICC line management, and case management.
- At least 1 year of experience working with homeless and/or safety‑net populations.
Schedule
Part‑time, 80% full‑time equivalent, Monday‑Thursday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.
