Registered Nurse

Registered Nurse (RN) position with a $10,000 sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants in accordance with federal, state, and local standards.
• Direct the day-to-day functions of nursing assistants and meet with assigned nursing staff to plan shift services, programs, and activities.
• Make written and oral reports concerning shift activities as required.
• Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as needed.
• Provide leadership to nursing personnel assigned to your unit/shift.
• Complete and file required recordkeeping forms/charts upon resident admission, transfer, and/or discharge.
• Receive and transcribe telephone orders from physicians and record on the Physician’s Order Form.
• Chart nurse’s notes in an informative and descriptive manner reflecting care provided and resident response.
• Fill out and complete accident/incident reports and submit to Director as required.
• Perform routine charting duties in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician.
• Develop and maintain good working rapport with inter-departmental personnel to ensure nursing services meet resident needs.
• Create and maintain a warm, calm environment throughout the unit and shift.
• Receive and give nursing reports at shift start and end.
• Make rounds with physicians as necessary.
• Administer professional services such as catheterization, tube feedings, suction, dressings, colostomy care, blood draws, massages, and range of motion exercises.
• Monitor assigned personnel to ensure compliance with safety regulations for equipment and supplies.
• Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information, including protected health information.
• Ensure nursing care is provided in privacy and staff knock before entering resident rooms.
• Provide IV and IV site care as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse with current unencumbered state licensure.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts.
