About the role

The Registered Nurse at Perimeter Surgery Center supports the clinic's mission of enhancing individual lifestyles and vision through high-quality, comprehensive eye care. They provide ongoing assessments and nursing care, collaborate with healthcare teams, and ensure patient privacy and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Ongoing assessment and nursing care to patients in accordance with Physician’s orders, policies, procedures, and processes.
• Teaching patients and families about their care and preparing them for procedures.
• Collaborating with physicians and team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Maintaining professional nursing standards and practices.
• Preparing patients for procedures, obtaining medical histories, administering medications, and documenting care.
• Assisting with medical records and preparing for procedures.
• Maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Reporting and documenting unusual occurrences and incidents.
• Utilizing safe practices to prevent infections and exposures.
• Assisting non-licensed personnel as needed.
• Assisting in the preparation and performance of procedures.
• Maintaining supplies and medication.
• Communicating effectively with patients and the care team.
• Providing discharge instructions and educating patients.
• Maintaining positive and effective interpersonal relationships.
• Serving as a clinical resource.
• Demonstrating professional accountability.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED certificate recipient.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Active RN license in the state where work will be conducted.
• BLS and ACLS certification.
• Current Pre-op/PACU experience (within past 2 years).

Qualifications

• Knowledge of patient monitoring equipment.
• Ability to make sound nursing judgments based on nursing theory.
• Primary nurse accountability through coordination, communication, and continuity of patient care.
• Competency in direct patient care.
• Initiative for professional development and continuing education.
