About the role

Eyecare Associates is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will support our mission of providing high-quality, comprehensive eye care to our patients.

Responsibilities

• Ongoing assessment and nursing care to patients in accordance with Physician’s orders, policies, procedures, and processes
• Teaching patients and family about their care and providing leadership by working cooperatively with the health care team
• Absolutely assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care
• Maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting
• Preparing patients for procedures, obtaining medical histories, administering medications, and documenting care
• Maintaining appropriate supplies and medication, assisting with procedures, and managing medical records
• Assisting with infection control and maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality
• Reporting and documenting unusual occurrences and incidents
• Utilizing proper body mechanics and demonstrating professional accountability
• Assuming responsibility for competency and professional development

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED certificate
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Active RN license in the state where work will be conducted
• BLS and ACLS certification
• Pre-op/PACU experience within the past 2 years

Qualifications

• Knowledge of patient monitoring equipment
• Ability to make sound nursing judgments based on nursing theory
• Primary nurse accountability through coordination, communication, and continuity of patient care
• Ability to assess, prioritize, plan, and implement direct patient care
• Working knowledge and experience in hospital or ambulatory surgery center including direct patient care
• Ability to adhere to work schedule and manage time appropriately
• Ability to utilize resources in a timely, organized, and cost-effective manner
