Responsibilities

  • Affirmatively assesses, observes, and communicates with a diverse student population.
  • Records and observes patients' medical histories and current health status.
  • Prepares patients for examinations and treatments, and administers medications and treatments.
  • Maintains patient safety by monitoring for side effects and reactions.
  • Creates, implements, and evaluates patient care plans with the Health Services team.
  • Performs wound care, including cleaning and bandaging wounds.
  • Operates and monitors medical equipment.
  • Draws blood, urine samples, and other body fluids for laboratory tests.
  • Educates patients on treatment and care plans, and addresses their questions.
  • Assists with other medical procedures as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required with current RN licensure in the State of Vermont.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical setting.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Knowledge of the developmental and health needs of college students.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Google Suite and an electronic medical record system.

Pay

The annual salary for this partial-year position starts at $67,000.

Schedule

Works 35 hours per week while the term is in session, and may work the week before and after terms commence, overall working 10 months in total per year.

About the Role

Provides high-quality, culturally sensitive, and gender affirming general health care for acute and chronic medical conditions. Works with all members of the Student Wellness Center team, supporting health care operations in collaboration with Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners and Nurse Practitioners.

Requirements

Bennington College requires a clinical staff member to obtain and maintain, for the duration of their employment with Bennington College, the requisite clinical license and controlled substance license. Personal malpractice insurance coverage is also required.

Skills

Requires a Bachelor's degree with current RN licensure, minimum 1 year of clinical experience, and knowledge of the developmental and health needs of college students.
