Registered Nurse
The Bedford-Stuyvesant Family Health Center (BSFHC) is a patient-centered, team-based multi-specialty practice providing affordable, comprehensive outpatient medical and dental services in central Brooklyn for over 40 years. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), BSFHC serves all primary health care needs of families in North and Central Brooklyn, with a mission to deliver professional, courteous, and high-quality care with dignity, especially to underserved populations, regardless of ability to pay.
About the role
The Registered Nurse (Charged Nurse) is responsible for efficiency in productivity, management, and quality assurance of all clinical services, including training, supervision, and scheduling of LPNs and medical assistants. This leadership position supports service delivery and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to provide culturally sensitive, high-quality, comprehensive health services to the community.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and ensure productivity, management, and quality assurance of clinical services
- Train, supervise, and schedule LPNs and medical assistants
- Administer injections, vaccines, and patient forms
- Handle patient communications, including refill requests and education
- Conduct intake for walk-in patients
- Rotate to other departments such as pediatrics and OBGYN (experience in one or both preferred)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (Nurse Practitioner Degree preferred)
- Valid RN/NP License in New York State
- Hospital or clinic experience, with supervisory experience required
- Experience in community-based health care settings a plus
- EMR experience (eClinical Works preferred)
- Strong teamwork, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to foster positive working relationships in a multidisciplinary team
Schedule
- 35 hours per week
- Rotating weekends
- Evening shift (11 PM – 7 AM) on Thursdays

$90,000, based on experience.
