The Maples is a growing network of physician-driven psychiatric practices with over 25 years of experience in the behavioral health industry. We manage administrative responsibilities while allowing practices to maintain clinical autonomy, enabling physicians to focus on patient care. Our network spans Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Pennsylvania, and Texas, with over 400 staff members, including psychiatrists, psychologists, nurse practitioners, mental health therapists, and recreational therapists.

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to work at our new residential treatment center in Hammond, focusing on teenage girls struggling with mental health issues, including trauma, disordered eating, and/or substance abuse. Full-time and PRN day and night shifts are available.

Responsibilities

  • Function as the Nurse for your assigned shift, providing nursing care and supervising the clinical program.
  • Ensure nursing care aligns with ANA standards.
  • Participate in planning, coordinating, and documenting total patient care with the multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Accurately report and record patient conditions, including signs and symptoms of change.
  • Prepare daily clinical/progress notes and incorporate them into the clinical record weekly.
  • Document monthly recertifications and Master Treatment Plan Updates in coordination with the treatment team.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living while teaching self-care techniques.
  • Educate and supervise other healthcare personnel to ensure continuity of care.
  • Implement all physician orders.
  • Complete, maintain, and submit accurate and relevant clinical notes.
  • Participate in case conferences, in-services, and other meetings as needed.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse Licensure in the state of Louisiana.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (required).
  • Certification in non-violent crisis intervention (can be obtained upon hire).
  • LPN Certification from an accredited program.

Physical Demands

  • Full range of physical capabilities, including handling and lifting patients.
  • Manual and finger dexterity, with good eye-hand coordination.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of items up to 40 lbs.
  • Corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
