About the role

Renewal Falls Recovery Center, in partnership with Ascension Recovery Services, provides evidence-based treatment for individuals experiencing substance use disorders and co-occuring mental health conditions. Our mission is to empower individuals on their journey to lasting recovery through compassionate, individualized care delivered by exceptional professionals.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments upon admission and throughout treatment
• Administer medications safely and accurately in accordance with provider orders
• Monitor patients during detoxification and throughout residential treatment
• Absess and respond to changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, behavioral health technicians, and case management staff
• Provide patient education regarding medications, recovery, wellness, and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical documentation
• Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and crisis situations
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission standards, state regulations, and company policies
• Promote a safe, therapeutic, trauma-informed environment for patients and staff

Requirements

• Current Iowa Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary treatment team
• Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care

Qualifications

• Experience in detoxification, behavioral health, addiction medicine, emergency nursing, medical-surgical nursing, or critical care
• Knowledge of medication-assisted treatment (MAT)
• Experience working with individuals experiencing substance use and co-occurring disorders
