Job Description

Provides safe, accurate and efficient patient care, including but not limited to: patient assessment, review of labs and vital signs, medication safety, dose verification, and drug administration. Follows all Job Breakdown Instructions (JBIs) associated with role. Provides triage care when necessary. Communicates patient condition effectively to multidisciplinary team members.

Safety and Compliance

  • Accurate and safe disposal of biohazardous waste, per OSHA and NIOSH guidelines.
  • Ensures appropriate charges are captured by following guidelines for appropriate administration of all medications and activities.
  • Fulfills annual required safety and nursing trainings.
  • Attends all mandatory staff meetings as necessary.
  • Maintains and ensures the confidentiality of all patient and employee information.

Documentation and Communication

  • Thorough, accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) of treatment rendered to patients.
  • Communicates patient condition effectively to multidisciplinary team members.
  • Responds appropriately to incoming calls and messages from patients, family members, hospitals, nursing facilities, pharmacies, and physician offices.

Education and Training

  • Nursing Degree
  • Certifications/Licenses: Unencumbered RN License in state of employment or multi-state license, Current CPR and BLS certifications, Valid Driver’s License and vehicle for travel to other clinic locations as needed.
  • Previous Experience: Experience with hematology/oncology patients in a clinic or hospital setting, Ability to assess patient needs and condition is essential, Must have strong critical thinking skills, as well as the ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations, Fluency in the English language with excellent oral and written communication skills is required.

  • Communication Skills: Good command of the English language. Second language is an asset but not required. Effective communication skills (oral, written, presentation), is an active listener, and effectively provides balanced feedback.
  • Customer Service & Organizational Awareness: Strong customer focus. Ability to build an engaging culture of quality, performance effectiveness and operational excellence through best practices, strong business and political acumen, collaboration and partnerships, as well as a positive employee, physician and community relations.
  • Self-Management: Effectively manages own time, conflicting priorities, self, stress, and professional development. Self-motivated and self-starter with ability work independently with limited supervision. Ability to work remotely effectively as required. Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-site environment with demonstrated ability to juggle competing priorities and demands from a variety of stakeholders and sites.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook required. EMR Travel:

Work Schedule

  • Standard Core Workdays/Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
