Registered Nurse
Responsibilities
- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and arterial lines.
- Administer blood products and manage acute ventilator needs.
- Care for COVID+ patients with high oxygen demands, patients with DKA, severe sepsis, and unstable GI bleeds.
- Handle trauma cases, open heart recovery, and post-code blue situations.
- Manage patients with multi-system organ failure and those needing CRRT.
- Float within scope to meet facility needs.
- Work every other weekend as required.
Requirements
- Active VA or compact nursing license.
- ACLS certification.
- NIH certification.
- At least 2 years of experience in surgical ICU settings.
- Proficiency in IV therapy and central line management.
- Experience with PICC line and thoracic care.
- Ability to assist with chest tube insertion and removal.
- Knowledge of infection prevention and isolation precautions.
Essential Skills
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
- Proficiency in arterial line management.
- Experience with blood product administration.
- Knowledge of acute ventilator management and care of ventilated patients.
- Able to interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs).
- Experience with chronic/acute renal failure management.
- Proficiency in CVVHD/CRRT.
- Titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips.
- ICP monitoring skills.
- Experience with Impella, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), and Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with PICC line and thoracic care.
- Ability to assist with chest tube insertion and removal.
- Knowledge of infection prevention and isolation precautions.
Work Environment
The position is within a 38-bed ICU in a Level II Trauma Center, certified as one of the top 50 Cardiovascular Surgery Centers in the United States. The facility offers a medical and surgical environment, accommodating conscious sedation at the bedside. Procedures such as EGDs, chest tube insertions, and bronchoscopies are performed in-room. Nurses wear navy blue scrubs and utilize Epic for charting. The typical shift is 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:00, with a patient ratio of 1:2-3, adjusted according to skill level and patient acuity.

Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $58.00/hr.
