Beloit Health System is adding a Per Diem Registered Nurse to our team at NorthPointe Ambulatory Surgery Care Center, located at the NorthPointe Campus in Roscoe, IL.

About the role

The Registered Nurse at our Ambulatory Surgery Care Center will care for, plan, coordinate, supervise, and provide for patients throughout their lifespan. Under general supervision, they deliver care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Nurses collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes. The nurses provide care and support to patients before, during, and after surgery and/or procedures, and may also assist the surgeon and the surgical/procedural team in their tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles.
  • Work with all members of the health care team to provide optimal care to the patient throughout their surgery center experience.
  • Serve as the communication liaison to family and members of the operating team.
  • Assist in patient education during all phases of their experience at the Ambulatory Surgery Care Center.
  • Record all care information concisely, accurately, and completely, in a timely manner, using the appropriate computer software.
  • Prepare the operating/procedure room for patient/procedure.
  • Identify actual and potential risks to patients and others and take action to minimize or eliminate risk and maximize safety.
  • Monitor patients' physical and emotional well-being throughout the care continuum.
  • Perform other position-related duties as assigned, depending on the assignment setting.
  • Direct care provided by licensed practical nurses and nursing aides, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • ADN Diploma, BSN, or MSN degree.
  • Current Illinois Nursing License and Wisconsin Nursing License.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR or the ability to obtain within three (3) months of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or the ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or the ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire.

Schedule

1st shift: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM (Per Diem, varied hours per week).
