Registered Nurse - Acute Care MedSurg Oncology - Charge Nurse - Full-Time Nights

About the role

The RN Clinical Charge Nurse oversees daily unit operations, ensuring safe, high‑quality patient care in a Med‑Surg Oncology setting. The nurse directs staff, manages patient assignments, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate staffing, resources, and patient flow, including discharge planning and bed management.
• Perform rounds to assess care quality, oversee the nursing process, and ensure adherence to clinical standards.
• Lead and support team development, foster collaboration, and communicate effectively with staff and physicians.
• Promote evidence‑based practice, participate in performance improvement, and support research initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with policies, regulatory standards, and professional ethics, serving as a role model and preceptor.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Current RN license (multi‑state compact preferred).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ACLS preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience; relief charge experience preferred.
