About the role

The Registered Nurse at Hackensack Meridian Health is responsible for delivering high-quality, evidence-based patient care. They assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for a variety of complex patients, working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Collects comprehensive data for patient health or situation assessment.
• Develops a plan of care that includes strategies and interventions to achieve expected outcomes.
• Communicates and coordinates care with patients, families, nursing peers, and other healthcare team members.
• Administers medications using the latest advancements in bar-scanning and documentation technologies.
• Coordinates multi-disciplinary discharges to ensure safe transitions and continuity of care.
• Evaluates patient progress towards achieving outcomes and initiates appropriate interventions.
• Adapts to changing patient needs and responds to ethical issues in the practice setting.
• Learns and maintains competencies, certifications, and continuing education to meet facility and individual licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• A minimum of an associate's degree in Nursing or a diploma in Nursing.
• BSN in progress and willing to acquire within three years of hire.
• A current and valid Registered Nurse license to work at the assigned HMH location by date of hire.
• BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.
• Six or more months of relevant nursing experience, or active participation in the Nurse Residency Program.
• The ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing patient needs, and demonstrate strong teamwork and patient focus.
• National Certification in area of specialty preferred when eligible.
