Registered Nurse - 2 N Intensive Care Unit
Department: 2 North Intensive Care Unit
Schedule: Part-time, nights (7:00 pm – 7:30 am), 48 hours per pay period, including weekends
About the role
The registered nurse is a professional nurse who coordinates the delivery of nursing care for monitored patients during their hospital stay, including cardiac monitoring, hemodynamic stabilization, response to emergent situations, and care of evidence-based medicine patients. The registered nurse ensures that quality nursing care is rendered to all patients in accordance with the Michigan Department of Public Health, the medical center, and nursing department standards. Utilizing the nursing process, the nurse functions primarily in direct patient care and participates in maintaining a safe patient care environment, patient privacy, dignity, confidentiality, and respect for patient’s rights.
Responsibilities
- Performs purposeful hourly rounding including pain, position, personal needs, and possessions
- Provides professional nursing care directly to patients
- Administers medication to patients as directed
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Valid State of Michigan Nursing License
- BLS certified
- ACLS within the first 6 months of hire
- TNCC within 1 year of hire
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous work experience within the specific unit specialty or 2+ years acute care RN experience
- Previous completion of AACN ECCO modules
- Specialty certification within the specific unit
