One full-time position located in Johnson City, TN (Washington County) with the Department of Health. Monthly salary range: $4,562 – $5,694 ($54,744 – $68,328 annually). A criminal background check is required.

Qualifications

• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Tennessee or holds a privilege to practice in Tennessee under the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
• A valid motor vehicle operator license may be required.

Overview

Under general supervision, this working-level Registered Nurse position performs nursing duties of average difficulty in various settings, including institutions, clinics, hospitals, home care, or other health care environments. Assignments may include days, evenings, nights, and/or weekends. Responsibilities include nursing assessment and diagnosis, care planning, implementation/intervention, and evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care and procedures according to physician orders and nursing protocol, including administering medication, evaluating side effects and medication effectiveness, maintaining health care equipment and supplies, tracking drugs and instruments, and performing basic life support and CPR.
• Performs initial and ongoing patient assessments, collecting health history data from patients and families.
• Performs diagnostic tests on collected specimens to determine patient health status.
• Compares assessment data to established acceptable ranges to identify abnormalities and determine if patient goals and interventions are effective.
• Documents, completes, and maintains patient health and medication records, adjusting the plan of care as needed.
• Explains tests, procedures, and results to patients, families, and other appropriate individuals according to protocol.
• Educates patients, families, groups, and others on health care plans.
