Job Duties

  • Provide direct patient care, including administration of medications, IV therapies, blood products, parenteral nutrition, and central line treatments under the guidance of a senior RN.
  • Aid in developing and implementing nursing care plans tailored to the needs of patients in assigned units.
  • Conduct regular patient rounds to assess physical and mental health, document observations, and communicate changes to the healthcare team.
  • Receive and carry out physicians’ orders, coordinating with other departments as needed to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Support physicians during patient examinations and document detailed medical and mental health histories.
  • Respond effectively to emergency code situations, providing skilled care to stabilize patients.
  • Educate and instruct patients on health, hygiene, and self-administration of prescribed medications, promoting safety and independence.
  • Administer medications and treatments safely, accurately, and in compliance with laws, regulations, and clinical policies.

Position-Specific Details

  • Appointment Type: CLASSIFIED WAE. This position is a ‘when actually employed’ (WAE) position without benefits. Incumbents in these positions may not work more than 1,245 hours or 1 year, whichever comes first.
  • Compensation: Salary depends on level of experience.
