Registered In House Counsel

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Provide legal consultation to executive leadership, program leaders, and administrative staff.
• Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, agreements, leases, MOUs, and other legal documents.
• Advise on labor and employment law matters including employee relations, investigations, and disciplinary actions.
• Serve as liaison with outside counsel on litigation and specialized legal matters.
• Review and provide guidance on organizational policies and procedures.
• Support risk management efforts including liability assessment and mitigation strategies.
• Maintain confidential legal records and documentation.
• Provide legal support related to governance and Board matters as needed.
• Assist with audits, compliance reviews, and regulatory inquiries.
• Provide legal oversight and guidance on critical incidents, including injury.
• Review incident reports and advise on legal exposure, documentation standards, and corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active membership in the California State Bar.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant legal experience.
• Active California Bar Membership in good standing.
• Ability to meet California State Bar requirements to serve as In-House Counsel (Registered).
• California driver’s license and current vehicle insurance/registration if driving.
• Reliable means of transportation capable of passing vehicle safety inspection if more than five years old (excluding two-wheeled transport).

Compensation

$124,800 to $135,096
