Responsibilities
- Serve as an expert provider of nutrition-related education and patient care within the Norton Healthcare system.
- Provide direct patient care and support, including comprehensive nutrition assessment, intervention, evidence-based education, and nutrition-focused physical exam under approved policies and protocols.
- Facilitate and coordinate onsite programs and classes on nutrition and relevant health and wellness topics.
- Develop and implement processes and programs; monitor, document, track, and report patient results.
- Provide nutrition support recommendations and changes for patients requiring alternative nutrition.
- Improve patient outcomes measurably and adapt education and services to fit all literacy and socioeconomic levels.
- Utilize critical thinking, decisive clinical judgment, and work with minimal supervision in a dynamic environment.
- Maintain all required certifications and education.
- Function as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with organizational departments, committees, and external programs.
- Train and guide students, interns, and new team members.
- Participate in program research and development, staff and provider training, and other assigned duties.
Qualifications
Required:
- Three years of experience working as a Registered Dietitian.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition and/or Dietetics; completion of a dietetic internship.
- State Dietitian (DT) license in Kentucky or Indiana at time of hire.
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) certification (National).
Desired:
- One year of experience in a specialty healthcare setting.
- Master’s Degree in Nutrition and/or Dietetics.
