Registered Dietitian Nutritionist
About the role
The Registered Dietitian Nutritionist provides services to participants enrolled in the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Supplemental Nutrition program. The Maricopa WIC Program serves over 42,000 participants per month with evidence-based nutrition and breastfeeding education, counseling, and support.
Responsibilities
- High-risk nutrition counseling
- Formula and food approvals
- Verification of program eligibility
- Anthropometric and hemoglobin tests
- Counseling in a participant-centered manner using motivational interviewing and emotion-based counseling
- Conducting nutrition and breastfeeding assessments
- Leading staff training and development activities
- Assisting in staff training and development activities
- Acting as a preceptor for Dietetic Interns
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a closely related field approved by ACEND of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) through the Commission on Dietetic Registration OR RDN eligible and able to pass the credentialing exam within 12 months of hire
- Completion of an ACEND-accredited dietetic internship upon hire
- Experience in community, public health, clinical, or outpatient dietetics
- Experience with the WIC Supplemental Nutrition Program
- Bilingual skills in English and Spanish
Qualifications
- Valid Arizona driver's license is required upon hire
- Ability to travel to and from job-related locations during a scheduled workday
- Ability to work in a shared clinic space or split time working remotely from home and in a shared clinic space
- Ability to participate in emergency response training as scheduled and be available to respond as directed in the event of a public health emergency

Pay
Anticipated Hiring Range: $57,000 - $69,500 Annually
Full Pay Range: $57,000 - $82,000 Annually
Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation. This position may qualify for a $0.30 multilingual pay differential.
Schedule
A flexible work schedule is needed that may include evenings. Position is not 100% telework; there is an option to work in a shared clinic space, or time may be split working remotely from your home and in a shared clinic space; home access to a computer, mobile device, and the internet is necessary if you choose to split time between home and office; daily communication with co-workers will be through virtual meetings, email, and Microsoft Teams messaging.
