Registered Dietitian II - Pediatrics Clinic

About the Role

A Registered Dietitian (RD) II assesses patient nutritional needs, develops individualized nutrition care plans, and provides education and Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) across diverse populations, including adults, pediatric, behavioral health, and women’s health services.

Responsibilities

• Assess and screen for nutrition risks using established standards.
• Develop, implement, and monitor personalized nutrition plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Provide nutrition education and counseling, employing patient-centered techniques like motivational interviewing, to manage chronic conditions such as diabetes and heart disease.
• Deliver age-specific care sensitive to patients' cultural, educational, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Document all interventions adhering to HIPAA and regulatory standards.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, serve as a nutrition resource, and develop educational materials and protocols.
• Refer patients to appropriate internal and external resources and mentor new staff and interns.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in nutrition-related field.
• Current accreditation by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
• At least three years of community nutrition or public health experience.
• Knowledge of therapeutic and community nutrition, education, and intervention techniques.
• Proficiency with Electronic Health Records and Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in nutrition or dietetics.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Knowledge of maternal and infant health programs and clinical nutrition standards.
