Registered Dietitian

About the role

The clinical dietitian will provide education, define and implement nutritional goals, and monitor patient outcomes. Responsibilities include medical record documentation, patient and community education, and consulting with medical and nursing staff on clinical nutrition and food service issues.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and monitor progress toward nutritional goals
• Document in medical records according to policy and procedure
• Provide patient, family, and community education on nutrition
• Consult with medical and nursing staff on clinical nutrition and food service issues
• Complete required in-servicing on patient nutritional management
• Practice infection control measures, including response to isolation precautions
• Direct food service staff as needed
• Utilize and manage the Electronic Menu system
• Participate in food and nutrition management activities (e.g., test trays, meal rounds)

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics
• Completion of Dietetic Internship
• Registered by the ADA (American Dietetic Association)
• NYS Dietitian/Nutritionist certification preferred
• Previous dietitian experience preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine interest in helping individuals

Pay

Pay Range: $30.45–$40.20 per hour, based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The range may vary by location.
