Registered Dietician - Outpatient Diabetes Educator - Full Time

About the role

The dietitian is a member of the interdisciplinary team working in the outpatient diabetes education program. The dietitian utilizes the care process consistent with their license or certification including initiation of interventions within individual scope of practice. The dietitian is responsible to oversee any necessary coordination of the interdisciplinary plan of care and provides for its consistency with the medical treatment plan. The dietitian incorporates diabetes education principles that are current and reflective of the standards set forth by the American Diabetes Association, The American Association of Diabetes Educators and The American College of Endocrinologists in respect to the management of type 1, type 2 and gestational diabetes.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in related discipline and graduate of an accredited program for Registered Dietitians, Master's degree preferred.
  • Certification: Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) required or CDCES eligible.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Registered by the American Dietetic Association.

Experience

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience caring for people with diabetes in an out-patient setting.

Performance Expectations

Demonstrates the competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool for this position.
