About the role

The Registered Dental Hygienist, Complex Care Practice is a faculty position at Yeshiva University's College of Dental Medicine. This position combines direct patient care with instruction, supervision, mentoring, and evaluation of dental students.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct the initial hygiene and diagnostic evaluation for all new Complex Care patients.
  • Provide comprehensive preventive and therapeutic dental hygiene services.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and timely clinical documentation.
  • Collaborate with the front office to assist in scheduling patients.
  • Perform duties involving occupational exposure to blood and other potentially infectious materials in accordance with OSHA and CDC guidelines.
  • Prepare and maintain operatories, equipment, instruments, and clinical materials.
  • Successfully complete all required OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens and safety training.

Requirements

  • BS Dental Hygiene or Allied Health Sciences degree required.
  • NYS Registered Dental Hygienist License required.
  • Basic Life Support/CPR Certification required.
  • Minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years of hygiene experience.
  • Experience with dental practice management system.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA, FERPA, OSHA, and laws/regulations pertaining to the practice of dentistry in New York State.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of preventive dentistry, periodontal therapy, radiography, and evidence-based practice.
  • Knowledge of NYS Dental Hygiene Practice Act, OSHA, CDC guidelines, HIPAA, and institutional policies.
  • Excellent communication, instructional, mentoring, and patient education skills.
  • Proficiency with electronic dental records, digital imaging, and dental practice management software.
  • Organization and Time Management: Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced academic environment.
  • Commitment to ethical practice, teamwork, continuous professional development, and patient-centered care.

Pay

$85,000 - $90,000
