Main duties of the job
- Provide clinical services for patients attending the Restorative Dental services of the Trust
- Deliver dental services in accordance with the Job Purpose
- Achieve clinical teaching and supervision of Junior Dental Staff including undergraduate and postgraduate students
- Provide Consultant Cover and clinical supervision for Junior Dental colleagues and postgraduates in the Directorate as necessary

Person specification
- Education, Qualifications And Specialist Skills
- Essential criteria:
- Primary Dental Qualification.
- Full GDC Registration.
- Entry on the GDC Specialist Register in Restorative Dentistry or within 6 months of expected date of CCST.
- Successful completion of an SAC approved minimum 5-year training programme in Restorative dentistry or within 6 months of completion or equivalent.
- Intercollegiate specialty fellowship examination or equivalent.
- An appropriate postgraduate qualification in Restorative Dentistry or equivalent.
- Desirable criteria:
- Teaching qualification.
- Clinical Experience.
- Teaching
- Experience of supervising junior medical staff.
- Experience of participation in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
- Ability to teach clinical / technical / practical skills.
- Research
- Evidence of involvement in and understanding of research methodology and publication of findings.
- Research/critical review of literature.
- Publishations in the last five years.
- Audit
- Evidence of participation in clinical audit.
- Evidence of having changed practice as a result of audit.
- Evidence of having revisited the audit to assess improvement.

- You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
- This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
