About the role

Registered Dental Assistant performs duties such as preparing the patient for treatment, assisting the dentist, maintaining a sterile environment, and performing various dental procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and escort them to the vitalling area.
  • Absorbent points dry canals previously opened by the supervising dentist.
  • Test pulp vitality and place bases and liners on sound dentin.
  • Remove excess cement from supragingival surfaces of teeth.
  • Size stainless steel crowns, temporary crowns, and bands.
  • Temporarily cement and remove temporary crowns and orthodontic bands.
  • Take bite registrations for diagnostic models (case study only).
  • Coronally polish teeth.
  • Assume responsibility for any expanded duties delegated by the dentist.
  • Support and comfort patients during their dental visits.
  • Stock operatories and maintain clinical supply inventory.
  • Review daily schedule to set up appropriate trays and instruments.
  • Assist in front office procedures if needed.
  • Serve as supply liaison and communicate with purchasing department and vendors.
  • Perform endodontic cultures and other procedures as directed.

Requirements

  • High school graduate (or GED).
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • FQHC experience preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and writing skills.
  • Motivation to take initiative.
  • Knowledge of administrative principles and procedures.
  • Computer knowledge preferred (NextGen, Microsoft Word, Excel).
  • Bilingual English/Spanish and familiarity with the Hispanic culture.
  • Valid California driver’s license and state mandated automobile insurance.
  • One-year experience as a registered dental assistant.
  • Certification as a Registered Dental Assistant required.
  • Certificate for coronal polishing recommended.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of dental health education subjects.
  • Ability to complete forms in an orderly and accurate fashion.
  • Proficient at digital radiographs.

Qualifications

Pay

$25.40 - $27.66 per hour.

Schedule
