About the role

Astra ABA is seeking a passionate Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) to join our team of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) Therapists. As an RBT, you will provide individualized therapy to children with autism in their home or in a summer camp setting. Our goal is to empower young minds to flourish, and we're looking for like-minded individuals to help us achieve this mission.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1-on-1 direct care to children with autism at the client's home or in a summer camp setting
  • Teach daily living and social skills using evidence-based treatments and positive reinforcement
  • Establish relationships with clients to assess interests and motivators for effective implementation of behavior plans
  • Directly implement skill acquisition and behavior intervention plans written by a supervising BCBAC
  • Collect accurate data for all treatment plans and behavior programs
  • Serves in a direct care role, consulting the BCBA regularly for additional support, training, and supervision
  • Adjusts interventions and/or intervention methods as instructed by the supervising BCBA when necessary
  • Maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of each intervention and plan in place for each client on his/her caseload and those on assigned team
  • Maintains RBT credentials by completing the RBT Competency Assessment annually as per BACB guidelines
  • Receive and accurately track RBT supervision hours to maintain internal and external compliance
  • Participate in clinical team meetings and ongoing training
  • Ensure all Sessions are accurately documented, signed, and submitted for timely billing

Requirements

  • Registered Behavior Technician Certificate with the BACB
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including prolonged periods of walking, running, standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and stooping
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Strong communication skills for speaking with clients’ families and writing session notes
  • Confident interpersonal skills for interactions with the clients’ families
  • Must have drivers license/access to transportation
  • Must be a motivated team player, and exercise patience/professionalism
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Must have Verifiable work references and pass a background check
  • Minimum of 6 months experience utilizing ABA therapy, working with individuals with autism in a supervised setting
