About the role
The Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) is seeking qualified Registered Behavior Technicians. The position implements behavior intervention plans that support students with behavioral and social-emotional needs on a school site, including the classroom, small groups, and 1:1 settings.
Responsibilities
- Implements behavior intervention plans that support students with behavioral and social-emotional needs on a school site, including the classroom, small groups, and 1:1 settings.
- Provides behavioral intervention and management services to children with emotional disability or behavioral challenges in a school setting.
- Uses applied behavior analysis techniques and services.
- Ensures compliance with professional and ethical standards.
- Data collection and analysis.
- Crisis management techniques.
Requirements
- A Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board is required.
- Three years of experience providing behavioral intervention and management services to children with emotional disability or behavioral challenges in a school setting.
- Valid certification in Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI).
Qualifications
- Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent.
- Experience: Three years of experience providing behavioral intervention and management services to children with emotional disability or behavioral challenges in a school setting.
Skills
- Applied Behavior Analysis techniques and services.
- Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Technicians.
- Basic theories, concepts, and interventions of behavioral/social-emotional disorders.
- Data collection techniques and tools.
- Standard and instructional computer software programs (e.g. Microsoft Suites, Google Drive, and Aeries).
- Crisis management techniques.
