About the role

The Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) is seeking qualified Registered Behavior Technicians. The position implements behavior intervention plans that support students with behavioral and social-emotional needs on a school site, including the classroom, small groups, and 1:1 settings.

Responsibilities

• Implements behavior intervention plans that support students with behavioral and social-emotional needs on a school site, including the classroom, small groups, and 1:1 settings.
• Provides behavioral intervention and management services to children with emotional disability or behavioral challenges in a school setting.
• Uses applied behavior analysis techniques and services.
• Ensures compliance with professional and ethical standards.
• Data collection and analysis.
• Crisis management techniques.

Requirements

• A Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board is required.
• Three years of experience providing behavioral intervention and management services to children with emotional disability or behavioral challenges in a school setting.
• Valid certification in Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI).

Qualifications

• Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• Experience: Three years of experience providing behavioral intervention and management services to children with emotional disability or behavioral challenges in a school setting.

Skills

• Applied Behavior Analysis techniques and services.
• Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Technicians.
• Basic theories, concepts, and interventions of behavioral/social-emotional disorders.
• Data collection techniques and tools.
• Standard and instructional computer software programs (e.g. Microsoft Suites, Google Drive, and Aeries).
• Crisis management techniques.
